My 9 year old son, Roan was sick for 8 weeks before we visited Nutrition Works. For a period of 3 weeks he was at the doctor’s 6 times and in A+E twice. He was first diagnosed with a viral infection and was suffering with vomiting and diarrohea. A week later he was told he had a bacterial infection and a urinary tract infection. After a further week of sickness and 2 visits to A+E to rule out appendix he got an x-ray and we discovered that he was suffering from chronic constipation. He was given medication to clear the bowel but as the weeks continued he still was suffering from bad stomach pain at night and was very bloated.
Following our consultation with Catherine we learned that Roan has a strong intolerance to cow’s milk and a medium intolerance to eggs and peanuts. On Catherine’s advice we removed these from his diet and in 24 hours his belly pain and bloating went away. He is happily using goat’s milk and goat’s cheese and has improved immensely. His energy levels have increased, he is sleeping much better and he has no bowel problems or pains whatsoever.
Catherine was also really helpful with suggesting alternatives and as a result there have been no real challenges or difficulties for Roan in changing his diet.
We would highly recommend Catherine as a Nutritionist. The information and blood test results have brought such positive developments for Roan. As well as carrying out a very professional consultation Catherine is very sensitive to the client’s needs and doesn’t judge the individual in a negative way. As a Mum I sometimes find that medical professionals can sometimes make parents feel “guilty” about their child’s bad health. A Doctor said to us “What does he have for breakfast? Coco Pops?” when I asked why Roan was constipated. We never had a box of Coco Pops in our house and I was so insulted as we were giving him healthy food but now we learned from Catherine that he was intolerant to milk and eggs so it wasn’t from being a “bad parent” that my child was sick. We had a long 8 weeks when he was sick and we got no satisfaction or solutions until we visited Catherine. It has been so refreshing and positive to have met with Catherine and we are so grateful that we met her.
In the words of 9 year old Roan “Give her 5 stars,Mam!” !!
